Stony Friday Social Club
Come and join us at the Methodist Church Hall, Silver Street every Friday from 2.00pm-4.00pm
Stony Friday Social Club was started by Age Concern (now Age UK) on 21st September 2007.
The club was handed over to the committee a year later and we are now an independent club but we do have support and advice from Stony Stratford Town Council and Age UK when we need it.
Our club is held at the Methodist Church, Silver St. Stony Stratford (from Horsefair Green, it’s just past Cofferidge Close), times are 1.30pm to 4pm. We cater for the older generation, 55 plus.
Even though the club is a success our membership has gone down due to either people moving or going into care homes.
We are looking for new members to join us, no need for appointment etc, just turn up at the church hall and pay the door fee.
There is something going on every week, ie: Talks with slides (various), Card making, Health Issues, Games, Entertainers, Beetle, Bingo, Quizzes etc. Our Social Secretary makes sure we have plenty to do. We also have a Bring-N-Buy once a month and a Cake Stall once a month too.We do charge a membership fee £5 annually and £2 per week door fee, this gets you a raffle ticket, tea/coffee and biscuits. We have a list of varying events to the end of June. There will be a new list after the end of June.
Please come along, you’ll meet new friends and have an enjoyable couple of hours.
