History of The Big Lunch
On Monday, 4 June 2012 Stony Stratford Town Council held two events to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee; the Stony Diamond Fun Run and the Big Jubilee Lunch. Due to the popularity of these events, and the extremely positive feedback that the Town Council received, we decided to make The Big Lunch an annual event.
With a community picnic lunch, traditional fair rides, ice-creams, scrumptious cakes, teas and coffees and a variety of other food stalls, petting zoo animals, Morris dancing, live music, Stony In Bloom planting activity for children, craft and other locally produced goods stalls and much more, there really is something for everyone!
The Big Lunch is a get together for neighbours across the UK, in Stony we involve the whole parish.
The Big Lunch and the Autumn Fair are now part of the events that take place on a annual basis for the enjoyment of the community. If anyone would like to assist at these events as a volunteer on the day it would be very much appreciated. If you can help please contact the Events Working Group: [email protected].
